Resident Visa Requirements for Catholic Missionaries
  1. A duly filled up visa application form and indicating N/A if not applicable with one photocopy (free of charge)

  2. Three (3) 2 X 1.5 head & shoulder photos with white background (taken w/in three (3) months).
  3. Passport valid for at least six months and old passport showing previous travels
  4. Endorsement Note from the APOSTOLIC NUNCIATURE-Manila Philippines
  5. Birth Certificate issued by NSO
  6. NBI Clearance
  7. Certificate from congregation in the Philippines and an invitation letter from the Sponsor (Church in Taiwan)
  8. Theology Graduate Diploma and Transcript of Records
  9. Employment Certificate (Missionary Work Experience)

    NOTE: Must have at least 2 years of Missionary Work Experience

  11. Registration Permit of the congregation issued by Ministry of Interior, R.O.C.

Visitor and Business Visa requirements
For those who intend to travel to Taiwan, Republic of China for a short visit, shall submit the following:
  1. A duly filled up visa application form ( can be downloaded from http://www.boca.gov.tw )
  2. and indicating N/A if not applicable
  3. Two (2) passport size photos 1.5x2 with white background (taken w/in the last three (3) months)
  4. Passport valid for at least six months and old passport showing previous travels
  5. Birth Certificate issued by NSO
  6. Marriage Contract (if applicable) issued by NSO
  7. Supporting documents related to the purpose of VISIT such as :

    (A) Air ticket or Booking Certificate
    (B) Letter of permission to leave from the employer
    (C) Financial statements of the applicant such as:

    1. Income Tax Return
    2. Bank Book or Bank Statements

    (D) Etc.
  8. When traveling on BUSINESS, you must also submit:

    (A) Business letter or trading records from Taiwan Company
    (B) Certificate of Business Name Registration and SEC Registration ( If owner of the company )
    (C) Invitation Letter from Taiwan company / organization in Chinese letterhead that outlines clearly purpose of your visit and duration of your stay
    (D) Official letters or request letters from concerned authorities for official trip
    (E) Seminar program F. Certificate of Employment; Professional Identification; Company ID
    (G) Other Supporting Documents if Required such as SSS contribution lists, Pay Slip etc.

Requirements for Seaman Visa
  1. A duly filled up visa application form and indicating N/A if not applicable (free of charge)
  2. Two (2) 2 X 1.5 head & shoulder photos with white background (taken w/in (3) months)
  3. Passport valid for at least six months and old passport showing previous travels
  4. Birth Certificate issued by NSO
  5. Marriage Contract (if applicable) issued by NSO
  6. Seaman’s book should be valid for a least six months
  7. Seafarer’s Registration Certificate (SRC)
  8. Letter of Guarantee from Local Shipping Agency addressed to Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO), indicating the following information:

      a. ) Complete name list of all seaman with their respective passport numbers and seaman’s book numbers
      b. ) Complete name, address and telephone number of the contact agent in Taiwan
      c. ) Complete name of the shipping vessel, date of departure and port of entry

    NOTE: One guarantee letter per seaman
  9. Letter of Guarantee from Taiwan Shipping Agentin Chinese letterhead to be sent thru fax to TECO and a copy to the local shipping agency, indicating the following information:

    a. ) Complete name list of all seaman with their respective passport numbers
    b. ) Complete name of the shipping vessel, date of departure and port of entry
    c. ) Taiwan Shipping agent’s name in Chinese character, address and telephone number

    NOTE: One guarantee letter per seaman
  10. Overseas Employment Certificate and Contract of Employment

Visa requirements for joining spouse or parents
  1. A duly filled up visa application form and indicating N/A if not applicable (free of charge)
  2. Two (2) 2 X 1.5 head & shoulder photos with white background (taken w/in (3) months)
  3. Passport valid for at least six months and old passport showing previous travels
  4. For joining spouse, need to submit the following:

    a. ) Birth Certificate issued by NSO
    b. ) Marriage Contract issued by NSO and authenticated by Department of Foreign Affairs and TECO

NOTE: If one party is a Foreign National, file for marriage registration first at your respective embassy or consulate

    c. ) Spouse’s passport (Photocopies only)
    d. ) Alien Resident Certificate of spouse (Photocopy only)
    e. ) Employment Contract of spouse (Photocopy only)
    f. ) Working Permit of spouse from Council of Labor Affairs (Photocopy only)
    g. ) Guarantee Letter from the employer of spouse

  1. For joining parents, need to submit the following:
    1. ) Birth Certificate issued by NSO and authenticated by Department of Foreign Affairs and TECO
    2. ) Marriage Contract issued by NSO

  4. Birth Certificate issued by NSO

  6. Daughter or son, who is married to ROC national with Taiwan ID, needs to submit the following:
    1. Son’s or Daughter’s Birth Certificate issued by National Statistics Office (NSO), which shows the relationship between the applicant and Filipino relative(s) in Taiwan
    2. Marriage Contract of the couple in Taiwan issued by NSO and authenticated by the Department of Foreign Affairs and TECO
    3. Passports of the couple in Taiwan (Photocopies only)
    4. Alien Resident Certificate of the Filipino relative in Taiwan. (Photocopy only)
    5. Taiwan Household Certificate issued within three months
    6. Invitation Letter from the relative in Taiwan
  1. Brother or sister (sibling) who is married to ROC national with Taiwan ID, need to submit the following:
    1. Applicant’s and brother’s or sister’s (sibling) Birth Certificate issued by National Statistics Office (NSO), which shows the relationship between the applicant and Filipino relative(s) in Taiwan
    2. Marriage Contract of the couple in Taiwan issued by NSO and authenticated by Office of President, Department of Foreign Affairs and TECO
    3. Passports of the couple in Taiwan (Photocopies only)
    4. Alien Resident Certificate of the Filipino relative in Taiwan (Photocopy only)
    5. Household Certificate issued within three months
    6. Invitation Letter from the relative in Taiwan
    7. Employment certificate
    8. Financial Statements of the applicant such as:
      1. Income Tax Return
      2. Bank Book or Bank statements
  2. The applicant will be scheduled for an interview (if required)
